Thanks Ryan Carson for making my week productive

This week I’ve been trying a ‘productivity’ tip as suggested by Ryan Carson in the Carsonified blog.

The idea is simple, have one to do list, full of everything you need to do, then have another list in which you put everything you want to do that week. Then only look at the ‘week’ list during the week.

At the start of the week spend 1 hour adding to your week list from the larger to do list.

Ryan says that it is important to have 2 separate lists, so that you only look at the one during the week.

For me I’m using Remember the Milk as my main large to do list, its easy to add to, always available to add to when a new task comes up that you have to add a reminder for.

For my ‘weekly’ task list I use the Tasks in Gmail, while it doesn’t have the functionality of Remember the Milk, it doesn’t need. All I do is add to it at the beginning of the week what I want to do from my larger list for that week. Then I can easily refer to it every day. Then cross off the things I have achieved during the week.

So thanks Ryan for the great idea.
