2012 is nearly upon us and people start to think about what new thingsx hobbies they are going to do in the New Year.
I've too been thinking about new year and what new technologies to look at. There are two directions as I see it, mobile or web (HTML 5).
I am a fan of mobile, I'm writing this on my phone. I did get a iPad over Christmas and have seen how useful they are. So Adobe Air does seem a great choice for next year, as you can build mobile apps, tablet apps, but the question I have is, is Adobe Air for mobile attractive to businesses or are they only interested in iOS/Android developers?
So there is HTML 5, which is very new and interesting, but is it ready and is there not flooded with developers? One of the plus points for HTML 5 is that it is not owned by a single company, like Adobe AIR, so it won't change or be dropped like Adobe have done with Flex.
So for 2012 I think I'll work on Adobe AIR for mobile at the start of the year, but keep an eye on HTML 5.
