Looking for a new laptop

I’ve had my current laptop now for over 5 years, its a Zoomstorm and has lasted me well. Since I’ve had it I’ve gone through two power cables, an extra gb of RAM (I’ve added an extra from  1 to 2 gb).

Its also had Windows Vista and upgraded to Windows7, which I kind of like. I’ve also had Ubuntu running on this laptop so it has served me well. But its time to start looking for a new laptop.

What I’m looking for a good performing laptop, at least 4gb RAM, a 500 gb drive, and as a Flex developer I want a well performing laptop that doesn’t get to hot, at least a 17 inch screen. I don’t play games on the PC so I’m not interested in laptops for gaming.

So far I’ve looked at Think pads, Dell’s, Sony Vaios, and the Macs (they’re a bit out of my price range).

I’m no where near deciding which one to go for, my price range is between £400 to £1,200. I might wait to see what the new Mac laptops are like and if the price of the current Macs go down.
