This blog was inspired by a post by Jay Fields, in which he talks about how he has grown his career by making a name of himself.
So I decided that I want to get more involved in the web community, in order to learn more and enhance my career.
The first thing I did was create this blog, I've created blogs before, but never carried on writing them. These previous blogs had name's like Grasshopper Union or Seasons in Flex, as Jay mentions in his blog post it's better to use a blog name which has your name in. I was lucky to find http://stephen-adams.blogspot.com/
Another problem I had with previous blogs was what to write about, again Jay makes a great point on this
Don't know what to write about? The answers are all around you. Anything you do that's interesting, there's 100 people searching Google for how to do it. Any question a colleague asks you, someone is searching Google for the same answer. Anything that's valuable to you... yes, someone is googling for it.
Good advice, so looking at what I'm currently Googling for the main things are setting up Apache, using Virtual Hosts, and installing Ubuntu.
I'm also interested in ColdFusion, Flex and AIR, which are all things I'm going to blog about.
