So for the last couple of weeks I've been playing with Ubuntu, with the idea of moving over from Vista. And so far I'm impressed with the speed of Ubuntu (for example a zip file on Vista could take 4 hours while Ubuntu 5 minutes, what is that about).
I've managed to get Apache, MySQL, ColdFusion and CFEclipse all running ok on Ubuntu, thanks to the help of a great article by Adrian J. Moreno in his blog iknowkungfoo, in which he goes step by step through how to setup CF, MySQL, Apache on Ubuntu.
But the main reason I have not switched over completely is because on Windows I have everything setup. I've got Flex Builder, AIR, CF, Apache, MySQL all working fine, but I do like the speed of Ubuntu.
I think I'm going to look into Linux support for Flex and AIR, if these are easy to set up then the big switch may be on.
